Interesting summary giving some background to the popular Broadway musical. I didn't want to read the entire Chernov tome.
A very fascinating look into the life and background of Alexander Hamilton. I've read previous work of Ron Chernow, and enjoyed his writing very much, so I was looking forward to diving into this one.

While this was a condensed version, what I enjoyed about this book is, that I felt I still got a full picture of Alexander Hamilton, who he was and what he stood firmly for.

Chernow does a good job leading the reader on a journey through Hamilton's life and accomplishments and interestingly for me, learning about the strong character traits of Hamilton that allowed him to have such strong influence in the early days and formation of US government
We went to see the play and wanted to read a short version of the story so I could follow the play. It was perfect & fit the bill.
I rather like these summarized books. It’s like the most important and note-worthy facts from a huge book have been filtered through to make this one. I see many important facts are included here despite the short length. It’s not an easy task, in my opinion, to shorten such a volume as the life of a person, and yet bring out the best and important details to the reader.
I was not sure if I was going to like "Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow" and I had a short period of time to read it, so I decided to buy this summary of it before I actually get the full and expensive book. Now it is definitely a YES. This book is a great introduction to the other book, I can't wait to get full version and read about the ideas that were presented in this one.
